Unveiling the Sutras: A Two-Part Journey into Patanjali's Wisdom

  • Yoga Village 2760 Daniel Street Clearwater, FL, 33761 United States (map)

Join Isabel for a two-part workshop designed to explore the depths of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, from its foundational roots in Samkhya philosophy to its practical applications in your daily life, both on and off the mat. Whether you're a newcomer to the practice or a long-time yogi, this weekend offers a valuable mental refresh and a return to yoga's core principles. We'll delve into the historical context, dissect key sutras, and engage in thoughtful discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of these timeless teachings. Over two engaging 3-hour sessions, we'll journey through the eight limbs of Ashtanga, examine the Kleshas as obstacles to spiritual growth, and explore the ethical guidelines of the Yamas and Niyamas. Come prepared for study, insightful contemplation, and enriching conversation around the profound wisdom of the Yoga Sutras.

The workshop will be conducted over two sessions, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday, with each session lasting three hours. In our initial gathering, we will delve into the origins of the Yoga Sutras, explore Samkhya philosophy, and uncover the mythology that surrounds these teachings. The second session will deepen our understanding as we investigate the eight limbs of yoga practice, examine the Kleshas—obstacles to spiritual growth—and take a closer look at the ethical guidelines of the Yamas and Niyamas. While both sessions can be attended individually for $60 each, we highly recommend participating in both for a comprehensive experience, with the full weekend priced at just $108.
